LMT History

LMT has been successfully used in hundreds of thousands of density separations since its introduction as a safe and effective alternative to traditional organics.

Lithium Metatungstate was originally developed and patented by BHP–Utah International Corp. (now BHP Billiton) in the early 1990’s. The marketing and manufacturing rights were acquired by LMT Inc. in 1996. LMT Inc. did not actively market LMT as it was an ancillary business unit for them.

LMT Liquid, LLC assumed the marketing and production of LMT in 2006 and is currently the only manufacturer of LMT (Lithium Metatungstate) high density solution.
